"Ben, there you are!" Gwen exclaimed as Big-Chill swooped down to where she and Kevin were waiting.
"Sorry.  I had to help a little girl find her cat then return them to the girl's parents." Big-Chill said, folding his wings and antennae into a hooded cloak.
"Any sign of that vortex?" Kevin asked.
"Duh...what do you think we were saving those people from?" Kevin ignored Gwen's smart remark.
"Yeah.  Had a close call with it." Ben quickly replied once he had reverted back from Big-Chill. "It just vanished though."
"Hmmmm....wonder where it came from?" Gwen asked.
"Guess we have to investigate." Kevin said. "Can you get a lock on any energy signatures?" he looked to Gwen.
"Yeah....from the civilians." Gwen replied.
"That's not what I meant!" Kevin groaned.
"Oh, well sorry, Mr. Specific! How was I to know you meant from whoever or whatever may  have created that vortex?"
"I don't know.  You're supposed to be the brains of this team!" Kevin snapped.
"What?!" Gwen's eyes flared.
"Guys! Enough!" Ben suddenly yelled, startling them. "Look, if we want to figure this thing out, we need to work together! So please, stop you stupid quarrel and look for clues!"
Kevin and Gwen gave each other one last glare before they separated
to look around.

"It seems I may have a few worthy opponents on this backwater planet." the female figure said from her perch atop an apartment building overlooking the area she had sent one of her destructive vortexes into.  She watched carefully as the boy in green stood in the middle of the road, talking to a girl and another boy.
"And it looks like they each have their own, unique abilities.  Maybe I will stay here for awhile and see just what these Earthlings are capable of.  But no being in the galaxy has survived to wrath of Celerita.  And none shall will."
She then disappeared in a flash of light.
